08th ms team is my favorite Gundam series for all of its' merits, Stardust Memory is my favorite by nostalgia as it was one of the first DVDs I ever owned... And your right, the romance is done so much better in 08

New Centry and Chaotic Centry are directly responsible for turning me into a mecha fanatic as a kid. I was super into nature and construction vehicles, so the idea of giant robot animals battling was unfathomabley cool. It's a travesty that the other seasons failed to capture the magic and mystery of the original two seasons.

People hear that Turn A is the "ending" of the series so they sadly go into it thinking its gonna this grand and epic finale to Gundam as a whole but thats not really what it is

For the record, Alan confessing to Hitomi isn't entirely out of left field. Keep in mind that that scene cuts back and forth between Hitomi/Alan and Fulken/Fulken's cat girl. It's a Dirnkirk plot to separate Hitomi from Van, because when their powers combine the Emperors powers to manipulate fate gets sealed, and he can't have that.

God I missed this show. I'm putting a date on my age - but I was able to watch it in its original run in the 90s. And finished it just before i went to Animation School. in the late 2000s I worked for (now closed) Xebec Animation Studio while I was living in Tokyo and I was working directly under the 3D Lead of this show. Here's a bit of trivia: Zoids was one of Xebec's first shows to incorporate the 3D Graphics, using the back then hot software called Softimage(you can even see it mentioned in the end credits), a competitor to Maya. The studio was so enamored by the tech, that they incorporated it into the story. Ambient, Specular, Shadow - the names of the 3 villain Organoids - got their names from 3 of the 4 important parts of a 3D Material Shader, (the fourth one being Diffuse) . I was big into Zoids as an 80s kid. It's sad how far the IP has fallen, especially current Zoids is just terrible. This could have been anime Horizon levels good had they played their cards right. BTW where can we legally watch this now? is there a streaming platform that has it?

This show was a never ending headache from start to finish nothing made sense, nothing is explained so I can’t care about the story or characters because I don’t know any of their motivations. Bad

I really liked this until the final episode and seeing what was actually in the box disappointed me. The clause doesn't even matter - billions of humans aren't going to suddenly become subservient to Newtypes and create an autocracy around them, especially since Newtype is never even defined. Also all the magic and repeated conversations at the end really made it drag. Also it doesn't just say Newtypes should be involved, it says they should automatically be appointed as rulers.

Zoids is one of the more "kid show" animes that had more mature like themes & darker tones. Also after Zoids I really would love to see Code Geass & Full Metal Panic covered

I also watched Zoids bright and early before school. When the schedule changed, I just thought I’d never get to watch the whole series. A few years pass and one day I find the entire Zoids collection on Limewire/Bearshare back in 2006-07. I still had dial-up for part of that period, so it took a half of my junior year to download. Was the first complete series I ever managed to download (well the first where some episodes didn’t turn out to actually be… well you know.

Sorry to say but they are not native to the planet. They were built by the ancient zoidians. And have evolved. Battle zoids like shield liger and pretty much every zoid that is piloted from the inside are made by either Republic or the Empire by taking a zoid core from a wild zoid and making said battle zoid. Most of what you have said is wrong.

I really liked this part of Unicorn. I'm a new Gundam fan but I just watched Unicorn, doing a mostly chronological viewing of the UC (I did watch MSG 79 before Origin though). I did love how this part seemed to build up on everything we had before and I was actually surprised to see Mineva again after her last appearance in Zeta or ZZ. It makes sense this period serves as the end of the major Zeon faction storyline though.

Fun fact: The General Revil is a Dogosse Giar class battleship, and has a hanger capacity of 48 mobile suits. So Full Frontal fought off 48 high spec mobile suits and their heavily armed carrier ship in that one battle in a setting where most skirmishes consist of maybe 3-10 suits on either side.

I'm gona bet a lot of people who voted in the poll though this would be the other Zoids anime they remember.
